This newsletter name has changed to Better Writing by Better Reading
The new name better reflects our mission.
We started this newsletter to celebrate the love of Language, especially effective Prose in everyday writing - professional or otherwise. In the beta stage, we called it Warli or Worli. The new name better reflects our mission. Better Writing by Better Reading (for Busy People.)
What’s my time commitment to this newsletter?
Fortnightly 1000-2000 words.
Why is this important to the BWBR community?
Observing how other writers use grammar and syntax, you can subconsciously absorb these patterns and improve your own command of the language.
Reading different authors allows you to identify and appreciate different writing styles, which can inspire you to develop your own unique voice.
Reading effective writing helps you learn how to convey your ideas clearly and concisely, avoiding unnecessary wordiness or ambiguity.
Reading well-written works can instill confidence in your own writing abilities, motivating you to continue developing your craft.
Who is this not for?
This is not intended for seasoned professionals in the writing sphere, such as journalists, authors, or legal scribes, whom I regard as experts in their craft. I would place myself at an intermediate level on a scale ranging from beginner to expert, indicating that I have covered half of the journey toward my desired proficiency and still have significant room for improvement.

The newsletter’s author?
Anil Bahuman is a Harvard, UGA, and NITK alumnus who turned to writing fiction during the pandemic as a hobby. His most memorable experience has been staying at IIT Mumbai for 20 years, a campus next to an urban forest and two man-made lakes where frequent earthworm, parrot, crocodile and leopard sightings are not uncommon.
I have been technical writing and publishing in several conferences and journals, and also worked on business plans and fund raising grant proposals.
